Here we go again!

Barely off the plane from Washington DC and I'm already back on the conference circuit - this time at ACPA (American College Personnel Association) in Indianapolis. We flew in from DC yesterday morning and had a *short* stop in Dayton to do some laundry (and for me to see Jon!!!) before heading to Indy.

Our last few days in DC were very fun and action-packed! On Wednesday, my mom and I toured the National Gallery and saw lots of fantastic impressionist art. The had a special exhibit on Cezanne that we both enjoyed. Then we went to the capital and got the hook-up from Senator Dewine's office - they gave us tickets to sit in the Senate Gallery in the afternoon. We had front row seats to watch history in the making as our nation's senators discussed and voted on a port security bill. Mom and I were giddy as we watched some famous & powerful names enter the room. We enjoyed watching John Kerry, Hillary Clinton, Elizabeth Dole, Ted Kennedy, etc. at work. What a fast two hours!

On Thursday we toured the Mall with Matt & Dave. We started at the Washington Monument, then saw the WWII Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, and the Vietnam Wall. Then we breezed by the White House, met a Secret Service labrador, visited the White House visitor center, and then hiked around Arlington Cemetary. Mom & I topped off our evening having dinner with the Ownbys in Springfield.

Now the fun continues in Indianapolis! An Indy update to come later...
