Back on the Bricks

This past weekend represented a long-standing tradition in the Dickman family - Ohio University Homecoming! We've all made it to 12 of the last 13 years of Bobcat Homecomings and nothing was going to stop us from continuing the family tradition. We packed in a full weekend, beginning with our usual early morning alumni breakfast at Konnecker Center - the hot chocolate is perhaps the best I've ever had! Then we watched the Homecoming parade - the usual highlights for me are the Marching 110 and the 110 Alumni Band. As the alumni band says, "you're never too old to funk!" After the parade, we made our way down to the stadium to enjoy the pre-game festivities along the Hocking River. Thanks to the College of Business, we enjoyed a fabulous tailgate lunch. That was a fun time to catch up with some favorite old OU professors and friends. We couldn't have had a more perfect day for a football game - 70 degrees and sunshine! It made an ideal setting for a Bobcat victory - they beat Buffalo by a whopping 41 to 7. Go Bobcats!

To top off an already fabulous weekend, it was also the one-year anniversary of Jon's proposal to me atop Radar Hill in Athens. Who can believe that this old couple has been married for four months already?!? The last year went by fast! It was special for us to be back in the same spot a full year later and think about all that has happened in that time. This also means that we have reached the 1st birthday of my blog. Happy Birthday blog! :)
