Bizarro World?
Our North Carolina "church search" continues as we make our way around the triangle area looking for a new church home. We've had a bit of a tough time in this search because we find ourselves constantly comparing everything back to our AMAZING church in Cincy - Crossroads Community Church.
I have been a part of Crossroads for 4 years, and Jon for 3 years. It is a pretty remarkable place and Cincinnati is blessed to have it there! I was beginning to lose hope that we would ever find a church like Crossroads, when alas, we drove past Crosspointe church.
The sign instantly caught my eye because of the striking similarities to Crossroads' sign and logo. Hmmmmm... Then we notice they even have the same slogan, "a real place for real people." Coincidence? A parallel universe? Can it be possible? This piqued our curiosity and we just had to check this place out. As we were driving in yesterday, Jon told me about a Seinfeld episode where Elaine, Jerry, Kramer, and George encounter their "bizarro" counterparts - people who, on the surface, seem similar to them but are actually almost opposite personalities. Well, we thought it would be funny if Crosspointe was the "bizarro" Crossroads. However, it was actually a pretty cool place - contemporary service, smell of Starbucks coffee, loud music etc. (Although Crossroads does not serve sweet tea!) To complete the irony of the story, someone introduced us to another couple in the church who is originally from Cincinnati and they told us that they were involved with Crossroads when it was founded ~9 years ago. AND - they did steal the slogan from Crossroads! So, perhaps we did find a North Carolina version of our beloved church...literally. ;)

good use of seinfeld knowledge!!
I agree with Anonymous. Being able to intricately weave in Seinfeld references into the mainstream is an essential skill. That is why you are both my friends. Be sure to work in some Simpsons' references from time to time as well.
