Movin' Out!

We are now official residents of North Carolina! With a little help from Jon's parents and some of our friends, we managed to tightly pack both of our apartments in to a 26 foot truck bound for NC. Our trip south was not without event or adventure. We trucked through a major rainstorm, discovered the perils of navigating small roads with a large truck, and eventually rolled into North Carolina nearly 24 hours later.

Luckily for us, our Oxford neighbor hooked us up with some Mormon missionaries located in the Durham area who graciously agreed to help us unload our truck. With their help, we were actually able to unload that truck into our storage unit within a few hours. Now, with all of our worldly possessions locked away in a storage unit, we really feel like nomads! I have come to find humor in the blank on all applications asking for "current address" - I guess the answer to that question right now is "wherever our car is parked." For the next month or so, Jon and I are living out of a few duffel bags tossed in the back of the car. We're currently making our home in an extended stay hotel in Durham while we shop for a home in the area. It's kind of fun to live such an adventurous life right now - I'm sure we'll love telling stories about this time in our lives several decades from now! We hope to have a more permanent place to live by the end of August, but for now we're livin' it up hotel-style!
