Ready or Not, Here We Go!

Most have heard the news by now, but I suppose blogging somehow makes it official. We're moving! Better yet, we're moving to Qatar!

As of July, I will be working for Texas A&M University in Qatar as a Student Development Specialist. My work will be similar to what I do now at UNC (undergraduate leadership development); however, the challenges will be entirely different as my students will come from a primarily Arab/Islamic background. I can't wait to dig in to this work more and learn so much about how the concepts of leadership translate within a very different culture.

We have made a commitment to stay in Qatar for the next three years. In that time, Jon is looking forward to working full-time on his own company. He's been dreaming of the opportunity to fully unleash his entrepreneurial spirit, so this will be the perfect time to go for it. Dewey is also looking forward to our move since he'll be living right on the Persian Gulf. Jon has promised Dewey lots and lots of swimming!

For the last several weeks, Jon & I have been busy getting our life in order to pick up and move to another continent. We have less than one month to leave two jobs, rent one house, sell two cars, pack up all our belongings, and move us & Dewey to the Middle East. Yikes! The next few weeks will be chaotic, but we look forward to the start of a whole new adventure in July!
