I've been in Seattle for work this week, and my time here has helped me understand a few things about Seattle culture. First, I learned why the "grunge" movement/style/culture was formed in Seattle. It's been consistently 38 degrees and rainy for the last four days...so, it's no wonder grungy clothes have risen to fame in such an environment. In fact, it seems to be the best attire to match the mood of the gloomy skies. Who wants to get dressed up when the sky is gray and the sidewalk is wet? On that note, I can also see why Seattle has a coffee shop on every corner. My daily tall nonfat chai was all that got me out of bed each morning. Aside from the rain and cold, Seattle does seem to be a great city! I would seriously visit Pike Place Market every day if I lived there!
