Parents and site visits

We just returned today from a full afternoon of visiting our future wedding sites! Jon's parents are in town visiting this weekend, so we all went up to Dayton to look at both the reception site and the church. Our reception will be held at a beautiful country club near my hometown - I was blown away by the 'total package' of the place today. The Fall leaves are at their peak right now so the whole property looked absolutely beautiful. Then, the club itself is contemporary, elegant, and spacious. It more than meets all of my requirements for a reception! We'll have an outdoor tent with a dance floor and all the dinner tables will be overlooking the 18th hole of the golf course. Of course, the biggest bonus is that we'll get to drive golf carts on our wedding day! We took a golf cart tour today to take a look at the whole property and scout out some of the good potential photos spots.

Next, we all drove to the church where I grew up and where our ceremony will be held. There happened to be a wedding just finishing up in the sanctuary as we were arriving so we got to see what the place looks like when it is fully decked out! We looked around the building, spent some time talking with our pastor and our wedding coordinator, and took lots of pictures. It was fun to be in all the places where we will be on our wedding day in just 7.5 short months! After leaving the church, we spent the rest of the evening with all the parents at our home - eating dinner and playing with Gracie!
