Dog Days of April

Let's be honest, 90% of this blog is about Dewey, and rightly so! Jon and I love our little pooch so much, and the (sad?) truth is that the large part of our social life revolves around Dewey's friends and their parents. We really lucked into living in a unique dog utopia - our street is chock full of other yuppies with young dogs and no kids. Even better, the dogs all get along so well and can play with one another for hours (i.e., wear each other out while the adults get to hang out!). Now that summer-like weather is fully upon us, the neighborhood dog clan has been out in full force. Last weekend we went with several of our neighbors and their pooches to the lake near our house and let them chase, wrestle, and swim for hours. Here are a few pictures from their doggie paradise:Dewey's retriever blood runs deep and he seems to be just blissfully happy when he's in the water. We saw this puppy joy in its truest form a few weeks ago when we took him to the beach for the weekend. This guy LOVES the ocean! He amazes me as he dives into the waves and manages to faithfully retrieve a tiny red ball from amongst the breakers every time. It was a beautiful day when we were out there, and we managed to get some good snapshots of our Baywatch babe in action.

Jules, this post is so funny! Do you realize, though, that you basically called yourselves yuppies? HA! ;)

Dewey rocks! I'm jealous he can swim way better than me and isn't afraid of the waves!

Yep, there's no sense in denying it. We're young professionals who own a yellow lab, drink Starbucks frappucinos, and enjoy a good night out at a local wine bar or Thai restaurant.

I first came to terms with my yuppie-ness when I lived in Hyde Park...that place defines yuppie-dom! ;)
