Things to be thankful for
Sometimes in the midst of a quiet and cold (relatively speaking) winter, you need to remind yourself of things that bring joy. Here are some things that I am thankful for this winter.
(in no particular order...)
Mio's Pizza - straight from the great city of Cincinnati. It may not look like much in this picture, but I tell you what - it's the BEST pizza known to mankind! I have salivated for a slice since we left Ohio in July! Thanks to Jon for making a special trip to Mio's during his last Oxford visit, packing up a pizza, checking it on a plane, and 8 hours later delivering it to me in NC. (Yes, it was still good!)
Handy Dads - thanks to my Dad's amazing handiwork, we now have a fully furnished master bedroom! If you can imagine, my Dad made two nightstands for us in December and one dresser for us in January! We've got a sweatshop running here! We're also lucky to have the handiness on both sides of the fam. Jon's Dad built two bookshelves for us last fall.
Girls' week in NC - I can't imagine more fun than having my amazing mom visit for a week in January while Jon traveled for work. We enjoyed causing all sorts of trouble in Carolina while she was here - watch out Southpoint Mall & PF Changs! We even dressed like twins (see exhibit A).
Carolina beating Duke in basketball - Okay, so I'm new to the Carolina bandwagon, but it's easy to soak up the Tar Heel spirit in Chapel Hill.
Chipotle is coming to Chapel Hill! - Our dreams have come true, our prayers have been answered. We saw the banner last night - a burritofication is in progress on Franklin Street! Now we'll never need to leave!

A Hot Husband - 'nuff said!

Wow, I guess I can't call myself a true Cincinnatian until I give Mio's a try! Where's the cheese on your pizza though? Your dresser looks BE-AU-TI-FUL! I didn't know your dad worked for Pottery Barn (his work looks just as good if not better). Can I get a deal on a dresser and nighstands through him? What a handy dad! My dad's shipping their piano to us- that's as handy as he gets! But, Eric has a dresser and chest still under construction as well as our kitchen. Our house is full of unfinished projects! HELP! ;)
Mmmmm...the secret to Mio's pizza: Chicago-style - lots of cheese & sauce on top. It's amazing!! You have to try it! There's a Mio's in Hyde Park (that's our fave!).
Pottery Barn has got nothin' on the Dickman Barn. We LOVE our new furniture! I'm excited for you that you're getting your piano!!
Has anyone figured out the difference between Chipotle and Qdoba? Here in Nashville, we don't have Chipotle, but we do have Qdoba. As far as I can tell, they're identical, but I haven't been to a Chipotle in years, either...
Speaking of identical restaurants... in Nashville, we have both White Castle -and- Krystal. You'd think it would only take 1 of these to corner the market on indigestion-inducing "hamburgers," but I guess it says something about the eating habits of Nashvillians...
Yum...Chipotle. I don't like their super-salty chips, but what a yummy bargain!
And yes, I wish I could get a dresser like that.
